California Dreamin'...

Blah. I took today off for a day a vacation (to have a 4 day weekend) only to get sick on Saturday with some type of virus and been icky ever since. I'm better now (thank goodness just a 24 hour thing) and now I have to go back to work tomorrow. Although I only have 3 days this week as I'm off for the 4th too. Here's hoping this weekend will be better, health wise.

Now I'm tired of the rain and seeing the walls of my house, I'm getting out and going back to work tomorrow! People, I need to see people! LOL

Man, I must either be bored or desperate for entertainment because I ended up watching "Baby Borrowers" and "Celebrity Circus" -- yeah, it was bad.

I don't know if I can handle another episode of the baby show...although even at 31 years old, *I* know I'm not ready for kids (I can't even have a dog!) - I would be embarassed to be the parents of these kids, they're acting like fools! (Especially the "I don't wanna wear the suit" chick - really? I mean, REALLY? What are you gonna do for 9 months when you CAN'T TAKE IT OFF?) *shakes head* And dude, the GUYS are doing better at this than the girls, and that says alot!

Celebrity Circus wasn't THAT bad...there was Joey...and Chris Knight...and Antonio. Love Stacy Dash! But eh.

I'm finally in a "slow period" at work...its the summer so that slows down a lot since I work with local area schools. Its hard to keep busy when you're all caught up. I don't wanna complain too much cause once August hits, its back full swing! I should enjoy it while I can. I do have vacation time, but I wanna go SOMEWHERE and mom doesn't wanna fly OR take a cruise (not a water fan) and we've been to all the southern states numerous times, I wanna go somewhere different. I hate to take a day off just because. Because I'd sit around watching MORE mindless TV and doodle on the net to pass the time. Sigh. I guess I'll get ready for bed and back to work tomorrow. At least I'm off on Friday...yeah 3 day weekend!

Hopefully I can make some kind of plans for 4th of July!

And OMG, New Kids are coming to New Orleans in October! Too bad I don't have anyone to go with (and I don't drive downtown, especially at night). I didn't even look for tickets when they went on sale but I might look closer to the concert date if I find someone to go with by then. Its been 18 for me, man! Paid $20 for the ticket and sat in the 600 level of the Superdome. Ah, memories!

Clue! It's still my favorite, now I play online!

I'm gonna be on a swamp tour tomorrow for work! We're shooting a video! The things I get to do at work for my job (and live in New Orleans to do things like a swamp tour and Mardi Gras parades with beads and all) :D

Although its gonna be 90+ degrees at 8AM and we're wearing dark maroon shirts and blue jeans! I'm gonna be a mess before I even get back to the office! LOL Gotta wear the hat and sunscreen!

I was surfing my Netflix last night looking for something to watch and stumbled upon "Amazing Stories: Season 1" -- this takes me back! I use to watch this back then and all of a sudden I remembered the story of Dorothy and Ben - an old man and a young girl in the hospital, the old man wakes up from a 40 year coma and can hear a young girl who's in a coma speak to him. I cried then it was so sad. So I queued it up and watched it again. I started tearing up right when Ben could here her. I watched all the way through, crying more as I watched and when the last line came, I said it when she said it and I BAWLED! I haven't cried that hard in I don't know how long but I was in tears! It was just like I remembered it but felt silly for crying over a 24 minute short story video. Damn you Steven Spielberg!! :D

I ended up watching 1 more episode before bed "The Ghost Train" - it was good too but not as good as the "Dorothy and Ben" story, but it did have a very young Lukas Haas! Must find old favorites now!

Look what I found in my backyard yesterday?



I took the picture through my screen door cause if I opened the door I know I would have scared it away. It was eating my grass! So cute! Apparently we have a few of these brown rabbits around the neighborhood. Saw a smaller one in a ditch in front of my mom's house today! Awww!

I painted my back fence yesterday as well and now my arms are sore (it was an icky dark red and I painted it white - talk about blinding now when the sun hits it!) and I colored my hair today -- although you can't see a difference because my hair is too dark and I just can't find a nice shade. I want a shade of red that you can see though (not "Annie" red).

I also finished watching P.S. I Love You -- dude, I knew Jefferey Dean Morgan was hot before, but this movie made me D-E-D, dead. And you got to see his naked ass! Woo!! I may have rewinded that part once or twice ;) -- Of course I cried, but I think it would have been MUCH better if it weren't for Hilary Swank. Someone else playing the Holly character would have make it that much more! (Someone mentioned Rachel McAdams, and OMG yes! LOVE her!)

Still waiting for "Juno" to come from Netflix but its been on a wait list forever. Hope I get to see it soon. Although I'm reading that some people didn't like it as much as its been hyped up to be. We'll see soon I hope. Now time for bed!

New icon!

I have been downloading and replaying New Kids on the Block music and I can't believe I remember all the words! The songs start and the words just come like it was yesterday! I love it! HA HA!!

Some of my favs were "Right Stuff", "Tonight", "Please Don't Go Girl", and "Where Do I Go From Here?" (I was SUCH a Joey girl!) and some of these lines, OMG! (You make me wanna play my guitar!) LOVE IT!

I also have to post a reminder to myself to TIVO the Today show on Friday (even though I'm off, but I'm sure I'll forget and sleep in, plus I'd want to rewind and such). :)

I read a_karls's entry about the dress rehearsal -- that sounded like SUCH a great time! Memories, man! Its all coming back! Hee hee!

(I still have "some" of my stuff from "back in the day" -- although all my T-Shirts that I had (and there were A LOT) seemed to disappear between moving from one town to the next. I have a feeling mom tossed them but never did find them.) Hmmm.

So I've been re-reading the "Night World" series by L.J. Smith that I had bought YEARS ago and loved. I'm flying through them so fast though cause they are nothing like the "Twilight" book series in length. But I forgot how much I loved these. One more to go, even though I'm missing a book that I KNOW I have. Must find it soon. I haven't read books in SO long I forget how much I've missed it.

I also racked up on some DVDs as one of our chains of "Movie Gallery" are closing. So everything is now 50% off, even new releases. I bought the following:

"The Covenent", "Stay Alive", "Lady in the Water", and "The Invisible". I went back today and got "See Jane Date", "The Curve", "Devour" (if ONLY for Jensen Ackles), "Fracture" (LOVE me some Ryan Gosling), and "Urban Legends: Bloody Mary". Its probably a cheesy horror flick, but they were only $5.00 each! Gotta love sales! They even had Season 1 of Grey's Anatomy, lots of "24" videos, "Lost", and even "How I Met Your Mother" season 1. I wonder if they're gonna go to 75% off the closer they get to closing?

Such a beautiful day, I should go outside and do something :D

Just as I finished reading the "Twilight" series and started watching movies and stuff, I finally watched "Enchanted" last night (thanks to Netflix which has been sitting on my counter since before vacation).

In the movie there was a "Prince Edward" and they ate a resturante called BELLA Nottie (or something like that).

Yeah. Edward. Bella. Twilight. Enchanted.

Lance is gonna be at Mardi Gras!! Man, been living here all my life and I have never wanted to go to a parade more than this one! I've been to my share in the past (but closer to home, never the really big ones cause its a bitch to get down there) but dude, its LANCE!!!

Joining Castroneves as a monarch, or Orpheus noble, are Lance Bass and Kevin Meaney - stars of the hit Broadway musical "Hairspray" - hip-hop and reality TV stars Salt-n-Pepa and soap opera stars Christian LeBlanc ("The Young and the Restless") and Ricky Paull Goldin ("The Guiding Light").

And I also wouldn't mind seeing Josh either, I LOVED his 1st album (for country since I'm not a fan of country but I loved it). Eeeeee!!!

Slated to perform either during or after this year's parade are American Idol finalist and country music star Josh Gracin, Salt-N-Pepa and a host of Louisiana artists, including teenage fiddler Amanda Shaw, New Orleans' Rebirth Brass Band and the Bucktown Allstars.

Now I gotta find a way there. Its Lance! And Josh! And I'm acting like its the whole group or something - eeeee! :D :D

I have been sitting here since 7:30am waiting for the movers to come to move my furniture to my new office (which is across the hall!!) All my stuff's in boxes and I can't do a darn thing!

I accidently left my computer card at home so I called the help desk to give me a temp. password in the meantime. They STILL haven't called me back and I went home and back to get my card anyway. (good thing I'm only 10 minutes away from work).

The phone guy was just here to move my phone but nothing else is moved yet. He's gonna hook it back up but he's still gotta move it later. I told him to leave it on the floor of the new office but he didn't want to.

Now its lunch and I STILL don't have anything moved. Can I go home? I'm not getting a THING accomplished and I hate sitting here bored. Grrr!

Happy New Year everyone! I spent it home alone, watching Ryan Seacrest. My aunt called me at 11 and we staying on the phone for an hour. I went outside in the cold for like 5 minutes to see fireworks from the neighbors and then pretty much surfed the net until I came to post this. Great exciting start to the new year huh? :D

I hope EVERYONE ON MY FRIENDS LIST has a happy, healthy WONDERFUL 2008 and can't wait to see what the new year brings us! :D
